    Verdict on the NPD is a missed opportunity

    With the dismissal of the ban of the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD) by the German Federal Constitutional Court, an important opportunity has been missed to take effective action against this inhuman party and to strengthen democracy. The NPD can, at present, spread its brown ideology and provide important logistical support in the right-wing scene with the help of hundred of thousands of euros of taxpayer money.

    Change at the head of the Central Council of Jews

    There will be a change at the head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany at the end of the year. In a letter to the Directorate of the Central Council, its President Dr. Graumann announced that he would not run again as presidential candidate in the re-elections in November 2014.

    Federal President Joachim Gauck guest-of-honour at Central Council rally “Stand up! Never again anti-Semitism!” – Numerous supporters

    The Central Council of Jews in Germany is delighted to announce the presence of a special guest-of-honour at its anti-Semitism rally on September 14, 2014, at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin: Federal President Joachim Gauck has agreed to attend.

    The President of the Central Council of Jews, Dr. Dieter Graumann stated: “It is a very special and moving sign of solidarity and fellowship that the Federal President wishes to take part in our rally. This gesture means a lot to the entire Jewish community and we are sincerely delighted. The Federal President has our sincerest thanks!”

    ‟Stand up! Never again anti-Semitism!” Rally by the Central Council of Jews at the Brandenburg Gate

    With a large rally at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin the Central Council of Jews in Germany wants to take a stand against anti-Semitism. With the motto “Stand up! Never again anti-Semitism!” the Central Council of Jews is calling on everybody in the country to oppose the wave of hate against the Jews.
    Chancellor Angela Merkel will speak at the rally to be held at 15.00 h. on Sunday 14th September 2014. “It means a lot to the Jewish Community to be able to welcome the Chancellor to an event that is so important for us, and that together we can take a stand against anti-Semitism”, said the President of the Central Council of Jews, Dr Dieter Graumann.
