Charlotte Knobloch receives an honorary doctorate

Munich/Tel Aviv – Charlotte Knobloch, President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, has received an honorary doctorate from Tel Aviv University. She has been recognised for her outstanding commitment to Israel and her untiring efforts to strengthen scientific and cultural ties between Germany and Israel. Those who congratulated Charlotte Knobloch on the honorary degree stressed that it was also a recognition of her lifetime achievement and that the Community Centre in Munich demonstrated how much she, a Holocaust survivor, had done for Germany's Jewish community. Charlotte Knobloch was one of ten distinguished figures to receive an honorary doctorate from Tel Aviv University. A detailed report with pictures on the festive ceremony held at the University's Miriam and Adolfo Smolarz Auditorium on May 18 can be found in the Thursday issue of the Jüdische Allgemeine newspaper.
