Central Council criticises wrangle over anti-Semitism resolution

Berlin – The Central Council of Jews in Germany has strongly criticised the failure of the political parties represented in the Bundestag to agree on a joint resolution commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Kristallnacht pogrom. "This is the dissolution of the coalition against far-right extremism and anti-Semitism," said the Secretary General of the Central Council, Stephan J. Kramer, in an interview to the newspaper Berliner Zeitung. Salomon Korn, Vice-President of the Central Council, said on Deutschlandradio: "It would be important, not least with regard to the surviving witnesses, to send out a signal of solidarity on this special day."
