Berlin – The Committee on Internal Affairs of the Bundestag has approved an increase in the federal funding for the Central Council of Jews in Germany from €3 million to €5 million per annum. The corresponding bill has been approved by all parliamentary groups. Now the bill has to pass through the Bundesrat for the change of the 2003 "State Agreement on Cooperation" between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Central Council of Jews to come into force. "The Agreement has proved a solid foundation for continuous co-operation based on partnership," reads the bill's text.
