Knobloch calls for determination in the fight against NPD

Munich – The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Charlotte Knobloch, called on the Federal Minister of the Interior (CDU) and his party colleagues in the federal states to crack down on the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD). After a meeting with CDU ministers of the interior in Munich, she said that the far-right and anti-Semitic NPD must not enjoy "privileges" like the possibility to have their election campaign costs refunded. Knobloch demanded that the "brown gangs" be stripped of the ability to exist and expand. Before the meeting, the Federal Minister of the Interior, Wolfgang Schäuble, and his party colleagues from the states had visited the synagogue on St.-Jakobs-Platz. (12.09.2008)
